Richard Kolb has performed throughout North America and Europe as a soloist and with a wide range of Baroque and Renaissance ensembles, including Opera Atelier, New York City Opera, Les Musiciens du Louvre, Chicago Opera Theater, Waverly Consort, Handel & Haydn Society, Concert Royal, and Pegasus. He was principal lutenist of the Carmel Bach Festival for eight years, and has recorded solo CD's of music by Michelangelo Galilei (Acis APL20415), Robert Ballard (Centaur CRC3747), and songs from Barbara Strozzi’s Opus 8 with soprano Elissa Edwards (Vago desio, Acis APL20315). Kolb is music director of the Labyrinth Ensemble, and performs with the Abendmusik string ensemble.

Richard Kolb currently teaches at Bard College and the Beacon Music Factory, and is Scholar in Residence for the New York Continuo Collective.
